Cigarettes Enters the Digital Age

With wave of smoking banns sweeping the country the cigarette has found it’s way into the digital age. Enter the ”electronic” cigarette or e-cig, for short. The e-cig is electronic device that works much like a regular cigarette would, but instead of toxic smoke, it produces vaporized nicotine. The device is a tiny rod which is about the same size as a normal cigarette. The end of the device contains a replaceable cartridge filled with liquid. The contained of the liquid are typically nicotine and propylene glycol. When the user inhales, the device detects air movement and starts to vaporize the solution.

There is no fire, no tar, no carbon monoxide, no ash, and no butts. Some companies sell the e-cig claim that they are a healthy alternative smoking but the FDA has not approved the product because the manufacturer is not marketing then as a “quit smoking aid”. The e-cig is currently allowed in may places that normal cigarettes are banned due to it’s lack of second hand smoke.
